Wood Care

Wood grains, by nature, will vary. They accept finishes differently. Some characteristics, such as ”cherry pits” and knots, give your furniture natural beauty and authenticity. Much of our wood furniture has been “distressed” by the manufacturer. This adds a charming, aged look and hides future small imperfections that may occur during normal use.

  • Maintain at least two feet between your wood furniture and home heating sources.
  • Prolonged exposure to heat sources will cause the wood to dry out. All finishes will fade over time. You can slow the fading process by placing your wood furniture out of direct sunlight.
  • Avoid extreme temperature or humidity conditions.
  • Use coasters under all beverages.
  • Use felt bumpers under lamps, statues, and vases to protect against scratches.
  • Avoid overspray when watering plants or cleaning glass.
  • Do not allow liquids to stand on wood surfaces.
  • Take special care with cigarettes around your wood furniture.

wood care & cleaning

Dust regularly with a soft cloth. Do not over wax. It is recommended to wax only twice a year to avoid wax build-up. Use a good quality wax, applied with a clean, white cloth and wipe in the direction of the grain.
